E46 YAĞ SEVİYE SENSÖRÜNÜN DEĞİŞİMİ

When your engine oil sensor goes bad, the yellow oil light will come on when you turn on your car. The light will turn off shortly afterwards. Check your dip stick to make sure your oil level isn't low.

PARTS NEEDED

1 oil level sensor (part # 12 61 7 508 003)

1 Gasket Ring - for oil level sensor (part # 12 61 1 744 292)
Optional Parts (if you're doing any oil change while replacing the sensor)
6.5 quarts of Synthetic oil

1 Oil filter (part # 11 42 7 512 300)

TOOLS NEEDED

  • 10mm Socket
  • 16mm Socket
  • 17mm Socket
  • 36mm Socket
  • Screw driver
  • Jack & Jack Stands / Lift

1. Raise the car and place on jack stands. Never work on a car that is only supported by a jack.
2. Remove underbody splash guard. Its held in place by screws and some plastic plugs
3. Remove reinforcement plate. It is held up by (8) 16mm bolts.

4. Drain engine oil. 17mm bolt.
5. Remove engine oil sensor. It is held in place by (3) 10mm nuts.

Unclip the sensor by squeezing the clip on the sides. Replace gasket ring and oil level sensor.
6. Remount reinforcement place and underbody splash guard.
7. Refill engine with oil. ~6.5 quarts of oil. Replace oil filter if you're also doing an oil change. (36mm socket)
